TERRA AG is the largest Swiss manufacture of construction equipment for underground pipe and cable laying. TERRA machines lay pipes for electricity, telecom, water, cable TV underground. No excavator must dig the road.

The TERRA-HAMMER is used for trenchless underground pipe and cable laying. For bores up to ø 300 mm (12”) the TERRA-HAMMER displaces the soil side wise, while larger diameters up to 3000 mm (120”) are achieved by steel pipe ramming.

The TERRA-EXTRACTOR is a cable burster to renew old pipes from 15-250 mm (1.5”-10”) diameter.

The TERRA-HYDROCRACK is a rod burster which replaces old pipes up to 350 mm (14”).

The HDD machines TERRA-JET and TERRA MINI-JET are horizontal directional drilling machines to lay pipes up to ø 1’000 mm (40”) in lengths up to 400 m (1300 ft).

The TERRA-DRILL is a vertical drill for geothermal power. It drills down to 125 m (400 ft).

The products are sold world wide in more than 75 countries. More than 100 persons work for the TERRA group world wide, in Switzerland TERRA AG has 35 employees.

TERRA AG invests 8-9 % of their yearly turn over in research and development. More than 75 patents protect the new ideas of TERRA AG from been copied by competitors.

Since December 1997 TERRA AG as the first European manufacture of underground piercing tools and HDD machines has introduced a quality management system according to EN ISO 9001.

Since January 2010 TERRA AG has moved into their headquarters in Reiden, Switzerland. Before that TERRA had an assembly plant in Brittnau and a production plant in Zofingen. Now both plants could be co-ordinated in the new building in Reiden.

The company was founded in the year 1975 by Dr. Ing. Gustav Jenne. Today his son Dipl. Wirtschafts-Ing. Dietmar Jenne is the president of the company. He studied at the Technical University Karlsruhe mechanical engineering and management. TERRA’s R&D is one of his favorit hobbies. The important engineering ideas are protected by several patents.
